Bring a pan of water to the boil and cook the broccoli for around 4 minutes until just starting to soften. Remove from the water and set aside.
Heat the sesame oil in a large skillet, add the garlic, and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
Add the flank steak and cook over medium-high heat until charred on all sides.
While the steak is cooking, add chow mein noodles to the same boiling water used for the broccoli and cook for 3 minutes. Drain and rinse.
Once the steak has cooked, add the broccoli and toss to combine.
Stir in the oyster sauce and soy sauce, then add the noodles. Toss everything together and cook for 1 more minute until heated through.
Serve in large bowls with toasted sesame seeds if desired.
