Waffle Tacos

These waffle tacos are a fun, flavor-packed twist on traditional tacos, combining crispy waffles with seasoned beef, salsa, avocado, and sour cream for the ultimate comfort food experience.

  • 1 lb ground beef 450g
  • 1 box 8 frozen waffles
  • 1 cup salsa 240ml
  • 2 cups shredded lettuce 90g
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese 115g
  • 1 envelope taco seasoning
  • 6 tomatoes chopped
  • 4 avocados diced
  • Sour cream for serving
  • 1 can chopped green chilies optional (4 oz / 115g)

Instructions

  • In a medium skillet, heat a little flavorless oil over medium heat and brown the ground beef.
  • Drain off any excess fat, then stir in the salsa, taco seasoning, and chopped chilies if using.
  • Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for about 5 minutes.
  • Toast the waffles and place them onto a platter.
  • Top each waffle with shredded lettuce, some of the beef mixture, chopped tomatoes, and diced avocado.
  • Sprinkle over cheddar cheese and finish with a tablespoon of sour cream.
