Guacamole And Hummus Lanterns

Creative Snack

These are the cutest and simplest way to serve guacamole or hummus at Halloween. And you can get creative with your lantern faces and et the children decorate their own.

Halloween food doesn’t always have to be all about sugar and candy. These guacamole and hummus lanterns prove that spooky can also be healthy, colorful, and full of flavor! Bright orange bell peppers become the stars of the table once you carve little jack-o’-lantern faces into them and fill them with creamy guacamole or smooth, tangy hummus. They look so good that everyone-especially the kids-will want to get in on the fun.

This recipe is one of my favorite ways to add a playful touch to any Halloween spread. You can set up a little “carving station” with peppers and let everyone design their own lantern faces before filling them up with dip. It’s interactive, easy, and much less messy than pumpkin carving! Plus, it’s a great way to get children excited about eating veggies. The mix of bright colors from the peppers, carrots, and cucumber sticks just makes the whole platter pop.

For the guacamole, I love using ripe avocados and fresh lime juice-it keeps things bright and zesty. The chopped tomato and chili add a nice texture and a hint of heat, but you can easily leave the chili out if you’re making these for little ones. If you’re more of a hummus fan, go for a classic version or try roasted red pepper hummus to stay in theme with the orange lanterns.

Serve these at a Halloween party or movie night with bowls of vegetable sticks and crunchy chips for dipping. They’re light, refreshing, and such a fun alternative to heavier party snacks. Best of all, they’re ready in minutes, which means you can focus on enjoying the festivities instead of spending hours in the kitchen.

So this year, swap out the candy bowl for something that’s just as eye-catching but a lot more nourishing. These guacamole and hummus lanterns are sure to steal the show-and maybe even convince the kids that veggies can be spooky too! 🎃
